Live Event Commentary

7:30 pm - A beautiful evening follows a great afternoon.  Clear skies, temperature in the low to mid 70's, moderate breeze out of the northwest (starting line).

It's 10:25 pm and the temperature is in the mid to low 60's with a light breeze.  Modifieds Tractors are beginning their session.

It 11:50 pm and we're done for the evening.  Congratulations to all of today's winners!

Modified Tractors

19 Tractors in the Modified class running on the north track.  Lowry Old Ironsides Arctic Cat is the sled.

Todd Feiss in S'no Farmer Xtreme is the test puller, goes 267 ft and accepts the distance.  Steve Bollinger in the Money Pit takes over first place with a 279 ft pull.  Bruce Slagh ups the ante in Show No Mercy with a 287 ft pull taking the first position.  Uncle Sam driven by Wayne Purser runs next and edges into first place with a distance of 288 ft. 

John Evans is driving the Double Stuffed tractor.  It stalls as it is being hooked the the sled.  It is pulled off the track and will drop six.  Scott King has trouble getting Dirt Challenger started and drops six.  Ken Veney pilots the Funny Farmall to first place with a distance of 297.2 ft.

John Evans comes back with the Double Stuffed and goes 267 ft.  Scott King comes back with Dirt Challenger and still has problems getting the turbines up to speed in order to make horsepower; he shuts it down at 149 ft.  Ron Barga II drives The Judge; it suffers flameouts at the end of the 270 ft pull.  The Jury driven by Ron Barga struggles to make 224 ft.

The Joker driven by Shawn Swearingen makes a strong pull and slips past the Funny Farmall by about a half foot for first place with a distance of 297.8.  Larry Piekarski in Holy Cow is the last puller of the session and the day and goes 278 ft.

No pulloff tonight in this class.  Congratulations to Shawn Swearingen and the Joker for their win the Modified Tractors.

Diesel Super Stock Tractors

21 Tractors in the Diesel Super Stock class running on the north track.  Lowry Old Ironsides Arctic Cat is the sled.

Jeff Demers is the test puller in Smokin' Hot Deere, goes 298 ft, and accepts the distance.  David Siefert pulls into second place at 294 ft in Renegade Deere.  Steve Burge lands the Lock-N-Loaded in second place with a 295.3 ft pull.  Before the ink is dry, Hans Boxler in Special goes 295.7 to move around Lock-N-Loaded and into second place.  Mike Beck has engine problems with flames out of the bottom of the tractor; he comes to a stop at 168 ft.  Jim Schaendorf's pull in Radical Red ends at 245 ft and a ball of diesel smoke from under the hood.  Brandon Hunt has a bucking ride on Liv'n a Dream and has to stop at 232 ft before going out of bounds.

No pulloff tonight.  Jeff Demers' test pull holds up for the win.

Super Semis

16 Trucks in the Super Semi class running on the south track.  Bauer Ironman is the sled.

Jeremy Walker in Double Down is the test puller; he goes 304 ft and the sled is reweighted.  Al Hopkins in the Pro-Hibbitted Blue Ox is the next test puller; he goes 273 ft, declines the distance and drops last.  Mike Laribee in Shameless is the first puller of record, goes 320 ft to take first place and sets up a potential pulloff.  Likewise, Joe Hoffa in Class Act runs 328 ft to make the pulloff.

Richard Bonner in Killer gets by Shameless for first place with a pull of 321 ft. Tim White in Black Sheep goes 312 ft.  J. R. Collins in the Buckeye Bulldog vaults into first place with a pull of 328 ft.  Dodge Fever with Larry Carey at the wheel pulls 314 ft to make the pulloff.  Gary Rairigh in Pro-Hibbitted II drives into the pulloff with a distance of 312 ft.  Greg Hibbitts goes 342 ft to make the pulloff.  Jeremy Walker in Double Down breaks in his comeback pull.

It's Pulloff time!   Mike Laribee in Shameless goes 283 ft to take first place for the time being.  Richard Bonner in Killer goes 274 ft for second place.  Tim White in Black Sheep takes second from Killer with a 280.3 ft pull.  J. R. Collins takes over first place in the Buckeye Bulldog with 290 ft pull.  Kim Edington in Hillbilly D'Lux has problems on the first pull attempt and is pulled back to the starting line; the second attempt is good for 280.0 ft pull.  Joe Hoffa in Class Act pulls to a distance of 272 ft.  Larry Carey has to get out of the throttle as his front tire heads for the sideline;  he stops at 258 ft ever so close to the sideline.  Gary Rairigh makes a very nice pull and takes the lead at 297 ft in Pro-Hibbitted II.  Greg Hibbitts runs Pro-Hibbitted out to 302 ft to take the lead and the victory.

Mini Modified Tractors

24 tractors in the Mini class running on the north track.  Bauer Ironboy is the sled.

Dean Dowling in Milk Fever is the test puller; he declines the distance and drops last.   Dennis Horst records the first official distance of 303 ft in the Red Fox.  Lee Swift in Under the Gun makes a very strong pull of 321 ft to force a pulloff.  Kevin Teague in 8 Second Ride grenades an engine at 256 ft.  Jerry Thompson in Hell Raiser 2 has problems and only got to 106 ft

Mark Stigge in Stud Monkey pulls into third place with a 293.0 ft pull   Hawkeye Hemi driven by Max Smith just moves past Stud Monkey into third place with a 293.8 ft pull.  Richard Peters in the Buckeye Special pops the blower and halts at 183 ft.

Scott Eighmey in Michigan Twister pulls into the pulloff with a distance of 306 ft.  Adam Bauer drives Iron Toy to first place with pull of 329 ft knocking out Dennis Horst's Red Fox.  Adam Koester in Double Play runs 325 ft to pull into the pulloff displacing Scott Eighmey.  Adam Bauer goes 312 in Cross Threaded.  Dean Dowling in the Milk Fever comes back to make the pulloff.

It's time for a Pulloff!  Adam Bauer goes 334 ft in the Iron Toy.  Adam Koester pulls to 308 in Double for second place at this time.  Cross Threaded with Adam Bauer at the wheel had problems after the last run and was only able to go 202 ft.  Milk Fever goes 297.  Ken Edington in Hillbilly D'Lux pulls 322 ft to make the pulloff.

Super Modified Four-Wheel Drive Trucks

20 Trucks is the SMFWD class running on the south track.  Bauer Ironman is the sled.

Mike Summers in Twisted is the test puller; he turns down the distance and drops last. Austin Berry in Interracial is the first official distance of 273 ft.  Shane Greer in Super Chevy moves to first with a distance of 277.  Enterprise driven by Lou Novotny leap frogs the first two pullers with a distance of 281 ft.  Everyone takes a step back when Bill Bolen pulls 289 ft in Plum Crazy.  Sandy Bugg in Black Magic pulls 300 ft to take the lead and setup a potential pulloff.

Randy Lowe's Lowe Down & Dirty toss the blower belt and stops at 276 ft.  Mike Summers has problems and stops a 240 ft.  Dawn O'Dell makes a good pull of 299 ft to take second place in Fantasy for now.

Big Daddy piloted by Larry Douthit makes it out 296 ft when the engine blows up dropping fluids on the track.  Mike Summers goes 297 ft on his pull after dropping the test pull to go into third place.

No pulloff in this class tonight.  Congratulations to Sandy Bugg and the Black Magic for their win in the Super Modified Four-Wheel Drive class!
