Live Event Commentary

6:30 pm - Overcast skies, temperatures in the upper 60's and dropping.  Standings filling up and we're ready to pull.  The first two classes up are Open Super Stock Tractors and Pro Stock Tractors.

8:05 pm - It's time to start the Modified Two-Wheel Drive Trucks.  Cloudy skies and a light breeze out of the northeast (across the track from the finish line), with temperatures in the mid 60's.

9:00 pm - It's time to start Unlimited Modified Tractors.  It's night and the temperatures are in the low to mid 60's with a light breeze out of the east (down the track from the finish line).

10:20 pm - The pulling is over for today.  Good thing as the light rain resumes.  We'll wrap up the 2007 National Tractor Pulling Championships tomorrow.

Unlimited Modified Tractors

We have 21 Unlimited Modified Tractors tonight pulling on the south track.  Bauer Ironman is the sled.

Bill Leischner is the test puller in Dirtslinger; he goes 306 ft and turns down the distance.  Ken Veney is the next puller in the Funny Farmall.  He has a strong pull going until one of the engines toss a blower belt and he stops at 293 ft.

Bill Voreis raises the bar to 322 ft with the American Thunder, taking first over place and setting up a potential pulloff.  Steve Bollinger in Top Gun with three Allison engines goes 281 ft.  The Dirt Challenger piloted by Joe Eder has problems and comes to a stop at 77 ft. 

A few drops of  rain have begun to fall at 9:20 p.m.  Terry Jostock pulls 282 ft in the Wild One.  Steve Klingenberg drives the Bad Habit out to 261 ft.  Bill Leischner pulls 265 ft in Dirtslinger on his return pull.

The few drops of  rain have turned into a light sprinkle now at 9:40 pm and the track seems to be going away.  Wayne Purser pilots Uncle Sam to a 269 ft pull.  Bob Jostock in Wild Child goes a distance of 250 ft.  Bruce Slagh is on and off the throttle of Show No Mercy a couple of time in the first hundred feet and comes to a stop at 248.5 ft.

The light rain has pretty much stopped at 9:50 pm.  John Evans in Double Stuffed has a strong run going.  The header pipes are glowing bright red and then there's a spectacular explosion with a ball of fire and the tractor comes to a halt at 246 ft.  Billy Biers is on and off the throttle of Stampede several times coming off the line; then a supercharger burst panel pops, a bit of flames shoot out and the tractor comes to a stop at 248.1 ft.

Nicole Snyder pilots the Legend to a distance of 260 ft.  Shawn Swearingen has to feather the throttle off the line in the Joker; it pops a burst panel on one of the superchargers and comes to a halt at 219 ft.  Doug Downs in Predator runs a distance of 264 ft.  Dave Snyder in Space Invader goes 249 ft.

Brian Diekman in Rat Poison pulls a distance of 271 ft.  Wayne Bunnage in Takes a Lickin' runs out to 246 ft.

No pulloff in this class tonight.  Congratulation to Bill Voreis and American Thunder for their victory in Unlimited Modified Tractors.

Modified Two-Wheel Drive Trucks

We have 41 Modified Two-Wheel Drive Trucks tonight pulling on the north track.  Lowry Old Ironsides Arctic Cat is the sled.

Jesse Petro in 2 Timin' is the test puller; he goes 299 ft. Randy Petro in Kathy's Komplaint pulls next and goes 305 ft.   The sled is reset.

Doug Theobald in the Wicked Willis goes 283 ft and accepts the pull.   Ralph Hunt in Yellow Thunder goes 290.0 ft to move into first place.  The ink has yet to dry and Davey Skinner in Bad Company goes bit farther at 290.4 ft to take the lead.

Donnie Sullivan in the Sullivan Memorial Pull goes 295 ft to take the lead.  Jessie Petro runs 291.0 ft to take second place.  Randy Petro tosses the blower belt from Kathy's Komplaint and comes to rest at 123 ft.  Stan Shelton in Cutting Edge goes out of bounds on a 271 ft pull and is DQ'd.

Rod Cochrane in Twister pulls a distance of 297.5 ft to take over first place. Jessica Jacks runs next in the Cenpeco Pair of Jacks going a distance of 298.5 ft to take the the lead.  The bar keeps moving.  R. J. Simon in Ol' Blue takes the lead pulling 299.3 ft.

Alex Teasley goes 296.4 ft in Bad Boy.   Tom LaRue pilots Anger Management to a distance of 295.8 ft.

A few drops of  rain have turned into a light sprinkle now at 9:40 pm.  Steve Jacks pulls 291.8 ft in Pair of Jacks.  Bill Leischner in Dirt Slinger is able to go 279 ft.

No pulloff in this class tonight.   Congratulations to R. J. Simon and Ol' Blue for their victory in Modified Two-Wheel Drive Trucks!

Jessica Jacks wins the ring in this class for her pulls in the Cenpeco Pair of Jacks.

R. J. Simon wins the Pennzoil Cup in the Modified Two-Wheel Drive Truck class.

Pro Stock Tractors

We have 38 Pro Stock Tractors tonight pulling on the south track.  Bauer Ironman is the sled.

Mark Lawyer in Rapped Up is the test puller; he goes 304 ft, turns down the pull and drops six.  Nick McCormick in Nasty Stuff sets the bar at 283 ft.  River Rat driven by Kevin Masterson goes 286 ft to take over lead.

Henry Smith in Sneaky Snake pulls 299.6 ft to take over the lead.  Mark Lawer comes back to make his pull and goes 291.4 to take second place.   With the headers glowing bright cherry red, Carlton Cope take Warpath out to 283 ft.  Tim McClellan in Simply Awesome has a wild, bucking ride and shuts it off at 246 ft  Larry Shope pulls 285 ft in the Iron Dragon

Bill Miller runs into second place on the Cruisin' Mule with a distance of 297.2 ft. Dennis Boersen on Greenline Express 2 pulls 289 ft.    Dan Cristiani on the Gotta Go Deere pulls 289 ft.  Dennis Boersen on Greenline Express has an explosion just off the starting line and the tractor comes to rest at 77 ft;  he has to be pulled off the track.

Dennis Miller in Tinker Toy moves the bar into full pull territory with a distance of 304 ft to take the lead.   Tim Cain runs 294 ft in the Red Gambler.

No pulloff tonight.  Congratulations to Dennis Miller and the Tinker Toy for their victory in Pro Stock Tractors!

Open Super Stock Tractors

We have 24 Open Super Stock Tractors tonight pulling on the north track.  Lowry Old Ironsides Arctic Cat is the sled.

Ryan Battrell in Sally's Alcoholic Sister is the test puller; he goes 259 ft and turns down the distance.  Jeff Hirt is the first official puller in Runnin' Bare All American and goes 276 ft.  Delynn Kale is next up in Ride the Lightning; he goes 285 ft to take over first place.   Larry Phillips pulls 187 ft in Insanity Alcohol which he usually runs in light super stock.

Ken Measel Jr in Mining for Dollars takes over the lead and sets up a potential pulloff with a distance of 320 ft.   Tim Howell is the next puller in Ryan's Toy II and goes 306.9 ft to set up a pulloff.  Farmboy's Fantasy driven by Mike Sandefur is rides on the sideline and is DQ'd.  Brent Payne in the Color of Money stop a bit short of making the pulloff with a distance of 297 ft.  Mike Chizek takes his tractor into third place with a pull of 298 ft.

The Head Games Oliver driven Tracy Varnes has a big explosion and comes to rest at 210 ft.  Allen Baballe out of California in Under the Influence runs comes up just short of the pulloff with a distance of 305.9 ft.   Frank Keener in XXX comes down hard at 273 ft and bends the right front steering.  It collapses as he tries to drive it off the track.  Patrice Beaudry in Crazy Canuk goes 298.0 ft.

Larry Roberts pulls 314 ft in The Big Toy to make pulloff thereby knocking out his Team Driver Tim Howell on Ryan's Toy II.  Jordan Lustik on the Silver Bullet makes the pulloff too with a distance of 318.  Desperado driven by Sid Broughton runs into the pulloff with a pull of 311 ft.  Todd Fogleman on the Alcoholic Harvester also makes the pulloff with a run of 314 ft

It's Pulloff time!  We have five tractors in the pulloff.  First up is Mining for Dollars Driven by Ken Measel Jr; he pulls 293.5 ft.  Next is Larry Roberts on The Big Toy and he stakes a claim on the win with a distance 325 ft.  Jordan Lustik in the Silver Bullet tries to take the victory himself, but comes up a bit short at 318 ft.  Sid Broughton on Desperado has a loud pop which ends his run at 285 ft.  Todd Fogleman on the Alcoholic Harvester is last up and he runs 265 ft.
