22nd Annual "Enderle Pull-Off" Surpasses $1,000,000 Plateau - Adds Light Super Stocks Multi-year Agreement Reached Keeping Event in Urbana, Ohio thru 2014
Excitement abounds with the anticipation of the 22nd annual "Enderle Pull-Off" on Saturday, September 13 at the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana, Ohio. Kent Enderle, founder of this special program, will once again reward the top competitors on the NTPA Grand and Regional National point circuits with a purse of more than $65,000. With this year's "Enderle Pull-Off," Kent and his Simi Valley, Calif.-based Enderle Fuel Injection business will have rewarded NTPA competitors $1,017,484 over 22 seasons! It is pulling's longest running specialty program in which competitors battle all summer long in their respective circuits to earn their invitation into the event.
"I'm really excited to reach the one-million dollar mark in the history of our event," began Kent Enderle, "and I am looking forward to trying to reach the next million!"
One new feature to this year's "Enderle Pull-Off" is the fact that the NTPA Grand National Light Super Stocks will be part of the event, replacing the Super Modified Four Wheel Drive Trucks who unfortunately do not have a national points hook this year.
"I like the excitement of the Light Super Stock Tractors," said Enderle. "When the opportunity presented itself to add the class, it was a no-brainer for us. The fans love the class, and it brings a lot of energy to the event with the various brand involvement."
The new venue in Urbana has surpassed expectations, and through Kent Enderle's request, the facility and WPI/NTPA have reached an agreement to keep the "Enderle Pull-Off" at the Champaign County Fairgrounds through the year 2014.
"We value our relationship with Enderle Fuel Injection," stated David P. Schreier, WPI President/CEO. "Kent, his son Mike, and daughter-in-law Yovana also cherish this event and the people of the pulling community. It has been an excellent relationship and a great commitment that the Enderles have made to the sport, and continue to make to the sport. We are thrilled to have extended the relationship for an additional six years in Urbana, as the location has worked excellently."
A couple facility improvements are planned for this year's Enderle. The tracks will be approximately 40 feet closer to the main grandstands and permanent lighting is going up in the infield in lieu of the portable setup used the past couple years.
Champaign County Fairboard President, Melvin Cook, stated, "We are pleased that the Enderle Family is very satisfied with our facility. We look forward to the event growing over the coming years, and are committed to helping it reach new heights."
The third annual Champaign County Barn Quilt Tour is also happening throughout the county during the Enderle Pull-Off weekend. Several activities of the tour will take place at the fairgrounds, including a large quilt display. For more information, visit www.champaignohio.com and click on Barn Quilt Tour.
