Week 10 Preview

Worthington, Ohio---Straighten that helmet and tighten those belts, pulling fans. Has the National Tractor Pullers Association got a week for you.

Tuesday, July 11 at 7 p.m., it's the LaPorte County Fair Pull in LaPorte, Indiana, which will import five Region II divisions: Light Super Stock, Super Farm, and Light Pro Stock (West) Tractors and Two-Wheel-Drive (West) and Super Stock Diesel 4x4 Trucks. The Light Pros and Two Wheelers will additionally compete for a raised Pro National purse. Jerry Yantes and "Spirit of Oliver" lead LSS and Stan Warda and "Hammerin' Hank" top SF after their hooks in South Bend, as do Susan Ingram and "Scheid Diesel" after one SSD 4x4 tug in rain-shortened Greentown. Also, Mike Palmer's advantage is eight points with "Red Avenger' in LT PS W and Petro/Mayhill's three in TWD W with "2 Timin'."

Then, it's a midweek Region V swing through Decorah, Iowa at the Winneshiek County Fair on Wednesday, July 12 at 7 p.m. This sophomore event has already expanded to five classes: Light Supers, Heavy Supers, Super Farms, Limited Pros, and Two Wheel Drives. After things got rolling in Rockwell, Jeremy Ploetz' "Big One" is number one in Limiteds, and Hawkeye-Staters Troy Warschkow (Jeepers Creepers) and A.J. Riedl (Shafted) share the lead in Two Wheelers.

Eaton County gets its two-night bite of the Region II schedule Thursday and Friday, July 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. in Charlotte, Michigan. Heavy Supers headline both sessions and are joined Thursday by Light Pros (West), Two Wheelers (West), Super Stock Diesel 4x4s, and Minis and Friday by Super Farms, Four Wheelers, and Modifieds. John Pfeiffer's "Pfeiffermax" has earned the max so far in HSS, and the "Triple Play Unchained" of David Lacey has paced the Minis, while the doorslammers are led by Jake Zaring's "Fatheadz Eyewear" and the noise boys by Ryan Writsel's "Lucky Stryke."

Meanwhile, back in corn country, the Kenwood Avenue Nationals bring two power-packed nights to New Hampton, Iowa. Friday and Saturday, July 14 and 15 at 7 p m., it's Light and Heavy Diesel Supers, Limited Pros, Two and Four Wheel Drives, and Modified Minis. Kenwood Avenue is the end the short RN V championship tour and Enderle Pull-Off path for the Light Supers, and it'll route a Mini to Urbana as well. Atop the Region V FWD standings sit Jamie Busch and "Thunder Struck."

London, Ohio gets going Friday, July 14 at 7 p.m. at the Madison County Fair with Light Pros (East), Two Wheel Drives (East), Super Stock Diesel 4x4s, and Minis. The two Eastern subregions performing here are led by Kevin Smith ("Flirtin' with Deerezaster" LT PS) and Jeff Writsel ("At It Again" TWD).

And two Saturday night fair pulls wrap up Region II's full week. In Wilmington, Ohio, it's the Clinton County Fair Nationals, with Light Pros (II-East), Two Wheelers (II-East), Minis, and Modifieds. Action in Wilmington starts at 7 p.m. on July 15.

It also does one state west at the Cass County Fair Pull in Logansport, Indiana. They'll host the final hook for the Light Supers and only one for Pro Stock Semis, plus Super Farms, Limited Pros, and Four Wheel Drives.
