The WPI/NTPA family mourns the loss of Francis Delia McIntire, 92, of Charles City, Iowa. Mrs. McIntire was the mother of NTPA event announcer and Cen-Pe-Co dealer Phil McIntire.
Mrs. McIntire and her husband James were married in 1949. She spent over four decades as a registered nurse, while Mr. McIntire was a licensed funeral director. He passed away in 1985, and after she retired, Mrs. McIntire fulfilled the travel plans that they had made together, purchasing a motor home and touring the country. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed card games and the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McIntire is survived by her children Philip (Deb), Jane Marquardt, Tom (Judy), Jeff (Linda), David (Anna), Lori (Scott Boyd) Taylor, Don (Kathy), Bill (Linda), Scott, Todd (Lisa), and Mary (Ever) Espinosa; a brother, Dan (Yvonne) Phillips; sisters Mary (Vance) Tuma and Suzanne Loehr; a sister-in-law Rose Sheehy, 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many good friends. Visitation for Mrs. McIntire will be held Friday, September 29 from 5 to 7 p.m., ending with a rosary service at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street, Charles City, Iowa. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 106 Chapel Lane, Charles City, and will be preceded by a one-hour visitation period.
