Dan Harber, Former FWD Competitor, Has Passed

Our office received word of the passing on Tuesday, October 1 of Dan Harber, 65, of Columbia City, Indiana. Mr. Harber drove the "Mind Boggler" and "Mind Boggler II" Chevrolets in National, Hoosier State, and Wolverine Tractor Pullers Association Four Wheel Drive competition from 1985 to 1992. After earning third in Region II points in his rookie year, he finished fourth in Region I points in 1990 and seventh in Pro National standings in his final season of driving.

A 42-year employee at B.F. Goodrich's Woodburn plant ,Mr. Harber enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. He was victorious in Session Two of the 1990 Purdue Boilermaker Pull in West Lafayette, Indiana, having posted the class' lone full pull. The win came at the end of his first year with the brand new "Mind Boggler II." After a fire ended his pulling career two years later, Mr. Harber continued to attend the Arcola National Pull every summer.

Surviving are Mr. Harber's wife Barbara (Roesener); children Tracy (Erik) Stebbins and Andrew (Rebecca) Harber; grandchildren Brady, Amelia, Lorenzo, Ivy, and Charlotte; and siblings Laura Juricak, Doug (Janel) Harber, Dale (Danielle) Harber, and Donald (Julie) Harber.
