Jody, Colin, and Lily Ross (Waynesburg, Pennsylvania)
2019 NTPA Grand National Super Stock Diesel Champions
Flash a "three" for RFP. That's "three" as in chargers for the "Triple Bypass" McCormick. "Three" as in a third Grand National championship for the team from Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. And "three" as in drivers over the course of the 2019 season, which welcomed Lily into the fraternity of Super Stock Diesel competition in Fort Recovery and for two late-season events in Napoleon and Sandwich. We might note that Jody's daughter/Colin's sister put up a 3-0 record in those Ohio and Illinois outings. But that performance was par for "Bypass," which posted 10 wins in 16 outings---including seven straight to open the campaign--- and finished out of the top three precisely twice all year. Kent Payne's "Super Rooster" (-19.5) opened the year with a victory at Cloverdale and diligently chased. But despite 10 top-threes of his own, Payne lost points to the leader in all but three appearances. Esdon Lehn return to the complete GN slate with "Diggin' Fever" (-33.5), and "Red Line Fever" (-110.5) missed only Rockwell in what was a carnage-filled year for the contenders. Steve Burge's "Lock-N-Load" (-153.5) missed Tomah and Hutchinson completely but returned to action in Iowa and steadily marched its way to fifth.
