It is with sadness that we must report the passing on Wednesday, October 30, of Norman Parker, 88, of Necedah, Wisconsin. Mr. Parker was the father of NTPA tech official Kal Parker.
A pre-med student at UW River Falls in his youth, Mr. Parker lived a life of service to his country and his community, ranging from his 25 years in the Wisconsin National Guard to his 50 years as his township's fire warden. He retired from the Guard as a Sergeant First Class and was inducted into the Wisconsin Military Academy Hall of Fame. He was an officer on the Necedah town board, president of the Necedah Lions Club, secretary/treasurer of the state Association of Drainage Districts, and commander of AmVet post 2180. He enjoyed deer and goose hunting and snowmobiling with his family. For the past several years, he graciously welcomed new friends from the NTPA to his home and property for fellowship in the week leading up to the Super National event in nearby Tomah.
In addition to Kal and Lisa, Mr. Parker is survived by children Timothy (Barbara), Shawna (John) Geidel, and Wade (Deborah) Parker; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces; special friends Bill Krueger, Curt Frost, and Elizabeth Rollo; and by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Parker will be held Sunday, November 3 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hare Funeral Home, 217 West Pearl Street in New Lisbon, Wisconsin and on Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Shennington, 33458 State Highway 21 in Camp Douglas for an hour preceding his funeral, which will begin at 11 a.m. Mr. Parker's complete obituary may be found at the funeral home's website, where condolences may be left for the family.
We offer our deepest condolences to Kal, Lisa, and the Parker family.
